The King

OR
SO - Friday I'm sitting on the couch with Ashlee and we are watching the Disney Channel (what else). And she started to cry, and I mean tears, hysteria, crying. So, thinking that earlier that day she fell on the tile, I thought she re injured something. So I asked her what was wrong. She then proceeded to tell me about Martin Luther The King and how he had a dream and then died. She then told me all about him and how she missed him a lot. So, being the nice mom that I am, and doing the best to hold back my laughter at Martin Luther The King, I sent her over to her father in the other room. He isn't a nice dad. He laughed. So her feelings were double hurt - so I had her call Granny. Of course Granny was kind and compassionate, but once I got on the phone with her, we both laughed and once again offended Ashlee.
Fast forward to Sunday. We were at my parent's for dinner and Ashlee was asked to bless the food. Now, you have to understand that most prayers that Ashlee gives, she gives a shout out to Aunt Liz and any others that bribe her. Not this time. Martin Luther The King got a shout out and a fear tears.
Oh the funny things our kids do. I can't wait until she hit puberty and we throw hormones into the mix. Joy.

It must be a lie

So - I saw this on Alieen's blog and thought I'd take the test. Who would have thought that I am my favorite color?! This also must be a total lie - I mean seriously "Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others" ha ha ha - yeah right!!!

Take this test!

You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

Hip Hip Hurray

Yep - I took that ever so lovely picture two years ago. It is probably my favorite so far!! So in case you are wondering, I will not be available on May 31st. Yep. I'll be kicking it at the University of Phoenix Stadium with my old pal Mr. Hottie Hottie Kenny Chesney, that is right, we are pals. I am frantically looking through my CD's trying to find the one that has our pictures on it. I got to meet him a few years ago when I won a KNIX contest. The contest was that you were to suppose to write an essay and tell Tim and Willy what you would do if you had a day to spend with Kenny. I wrote it and told them that I would take him cruising around town in the hearse (I worked at the funeral home at that time) and we would drive through all the Filberto's and freak out the workers. Well, I won and got to spend the morning with him. Ahhh - such sweet memories. Trust me, when I find the pics - I'll post them. SO - if you wish to attend the concert with my brother Stephen, his girlfriend (and my concert buddy) Sara, let me know. I get to purchase tickets early since I'm one of those crazy fan club members!!

By the way I will pre- apologize for the Kenny blogs that are to follow. Oh and I must say that weekend is going to be one hell of a weekend. Tiffany turns one the day prior - so I'll be on happy mode for quite a while!!!

Head growth

So, being the ever so awesome sister that I am, I threw a baby shower for my sister Julia this past weekend. Remind me never to be awesome. I forgot how much crap you have to do for one of these things. My poor brother Michael was dragged around with me all week so that I didn't have to suffer through the shopping alone.
So you are probably wondering what the crap is the picture of Tiffany for? Well, when my sister was younger, she would wear those big freaking headbands. We called her "Massive Headband Harry". So my cousin Anna got her as a gift a massive bow. Of course, I couldn't resist putting the thing on Tiffany. As you see in her eyes, Tiffany is terrified and is really wanting us to remove the growth from her forehead. Poor child - I just know she will need therapy.
.....................................................................................
Yesterday Elle had her baptism interview. She will be baptised in a few weeks, and I'm having total trauma! I can't believe she is almost eight!! I swear it was just yesterday that Becca Becca was taking me to the hospital to have her. YIKES!! She is totally excited, and right now our battle is trying to get permission from her to purchase a pretty white dress for her to wear. The child won't let me. I have even said that I would put a green sash on it. Nope. I guess I need to go to plan 'B' and bribe her with Ninja Turtle toys. Oh the silly things we parents do to make our children look half normal.
